The Block Research Group (BRG) at the Institute of Technology in Architecture, ETH Zurich, lead by Prof. Dr. Philippe Block and Dr. Tom Van Mele, has three core areas of research: equilibrium analysis and design of vaulted masonry structures, computational form finding and structural optimization of curved surface structures, and fabrication and construction innovation for shell structures. The BRG’s research is demonstrated and applied in high-visibility projects and exhibitions locally and internationally. In support of the BRG’s range of structural and architectural projects and to organise and catalogue its growing library of project documentation, we are hiring to start as soon as possible

Your tasks will include the coordination and management of administrative tasks associated with projects, exhibitions, websites, and publications; communication with external partners as well as internal ETH offices in relation to projects; organisation and maintenance of file server structure; maintenance and updating of website content and synchronization with server structure; ensuring and enforcing proper cataloguing of project and research documentation; archiving data and documentation as needed; responding to and coordinating media requests and public relations/communications; coordination of Seminar Week for architecture students together with teaching and scientific staff.

The ideal candidate should have a Master’s degree in Architecture and/or significant experience in project coordination and documentation in a high-paced environment. The candidate must be fluent in English and German (minimum C1 level or above) and an effective communicator with a talent for organization. A background in architecture, particularly in a Swiss context, is preferred. Interest and skills in graphic design, layout, and photography are essential, and the candidate must be a skilled user of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
